3 Game Set with Red Sox

Hey there…remember me?
Well I have a second and I haven’t written in a while and it’s killing me…but more important things (unfortunatley) have consumed most of my time as of late so I haven’t had a chance to “Rant” about the Yankees and what they have been doing. Continue Reading »

I haven’t been quiet in my concerns on the Yankees starting rotation and what I thought they should have done at the close of the Waiver Trade “deadline” (Sept. 1st is the cut off to have players available on your team for the playoffs). I still have my concerns but I have to admit they are waning, due mostly to the enormous numbers they have been putting up at the plate. Continue Reading »

Hi Everyone!

If you are reading this, THANK YOU for following me even though I have been extremely busy at work and now I finally have a second to write an entry. But let’s be honest there hasn’t really been anything to “RANT” about lately, the Yankees are on fire and are running away with the AL East. The team has become everything that all Yankee fans expected, a dominate force in the AL East and a team that can win any game at any time. Continue Reading »

I feel compelled to talk about what happened in the Red Sox game last night against the Tigers. I understand things get heated and no one likes getting hit by a pitch, and I am not even saying that Youkilis was unjust in charging the mound, however I do have a HUGE problem with what he did when he got to Porcello. But for now…I am holding a bowling fundraiser on August 16th…if you are interested please let me know!

Thanks for visiting!

Hey all! I’m back! Finally a quick reprieve from work and a chance to talk about the Yankees again. I assure you I am not going to go back and talk about all the happenings of the past week, because this post will probably be long enough as is. But let’s get down to business.

The Yankees have been on a role since the All-Star break and have everyone talking and dreaming about what will happen this postseason, with good reason. Since the break the Yankees are 11-3 (including last night’s game) and have won all 4 series, 2 of which were against tough opponents (Tigers, Rays). The AL East leading Yanks (2.5 games up to be exact) are flexing their muscles and have Cashman and the Steinbrenner’s jumping for joy due to the fact that all their off-season purchases are paying big dividends. Work Work Work…

I swear it will slow down soon and I will be back….Thank you for checking up….SORRY FOR ALL THE POSTPONEMENTS!!!! :-(

This is a great time to be a Yankee fan as the “Evil Empire”, as they are oft-referred as, is on a roll and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. All the money they spent and criticism they faced is finally paying off in huge dividends, as the Yanks are finally at full strength, everyone is performing at high levels, and the Bronx Bombers are at the top of their division by 2 games.

The Yanks got hot at the right time, winning their last 6 games while Boston has lost their last 5 and are miered in a slump that has produced almost no offense at all. Two trades, that don’t really make sense, were made by the Saux yesterday that just adds depth to their bench but doesn’t fix their offensive woes, and doesn’t help them if they are trying to quietly bid for Halladay, just better news for the Yankees. Well, it’s been a long, kinda weird journey for the Yankees this year but they have finally made it to the top of the standings in the AL East alone. This, of course, did not go without it’s struggles and low points; from the A-Rod scandal/DL stint, to the newly refurbished starting rotation woes, to the Wang debacle and of course how could we forget the series loss to the Washington Nationals!

But it all came full circle and, although extremely early, the Yanks have finally reached the pinnacle and are playing the best ball they have been all year. I predicted, in the early stages of this blog, that the Red Sox would have their usual struggles after the all-star break and the Yankees must take advantage when that happens. This team stepped up to the challenge and are winning at the right time. I have to say I was nervous after they dropped 3 to the Angels before the All-Star break, could they hang with the big boys? Once again my question was answered by a much needed sweep of the Tigers and proof that this team is much more than ‘very good’; they are a truly among the MLB’s best. Continue Reading »

Hi everyone, sorry for the absence, it was a long weekend and this week started off crazy at work. But enough about me let’s get down to business.

The Yankees are on a roll after the all-star break winning all 4 games they have played, and surprisingly haven’t won all of them by scoring a ton of runs, while giving up a few to the opponent. The starting pitching in those games have come through in a big way, especially the last 3 where the Yanks have won by a score of 2 to 1.

If there were any doubts if the Bronx Bombers could hang around and be a formidable opponent for tough teams they could, potentially, be laid to rest with their sweep of a very good Detroit Tigers team. That series was a huge confidence boost and showed that our starting pitching has the ability to hold back big offenses, even when the bats aren’t coming through the way most would expect with this potent line-up.
